Throwback Thursday- Mint Condition

You already know from the opening notes……That music stab just makes you lean back and throw your hands in the air like “This is my JAM!” Mint Condition, one of the most underrated bands of their time exploded onto the scene with this classic, and easily one of the flyest love songs to come out in the last 25 years. Stokely’s crazy vocal abilities, combined with that undeniable groove that you just can’t help but to rock back and forth to, and there you have it….an instant R&B classic. Now remember, this song came out in a time when most male R&B groups wanted to look and sound like Boyz II Men, and yet somehow, Mint Condition broke that mold. How? Cause they weren’t a group of 4 guys just standing around singing (not that there’s anything wrong with that!); but they were in fact, a 6-piece band that created their own sound, merging Classic R&B with New Jack Swing. It is that sound that has defined their 25 year career, and continues to make them an explosive live band to this day.
