Discussion of the Week- What Type of Music Do You Plan On Getting Into This Year

Happy Monday Musicheads! Spring is FINALLY upon us, and believe me, up here in the Northeast, that’ a much welcomed change! Just like the seasons, my music preferences are always on the verge of evolving and changing from one moment to the next. I guess that’s what makes me so eclectic- a badge I wear with honor. But one core constant remains the same: A good song is a good song….and you’ll know it from the instant you hear it. That being said, thanks to the invention of Spotify, I’ve been getting into more international music, particularly British Soul/Pop- and haven been presently surprised with what I've heard. A lot of their music is very throwback, mixed in with modern technology, resulting in a particularly refreshing sound. It seems to me that they still value the quality of music over there, like we used to here, about 15-20 years ago. In England, Soul Music is not only respected, but widely accepted as part of the Mainstream- a practice that has been long since forgotten here in the States. It makes me want to seek out and explore what types of music other countries have to offer.
