Discussion of the Week: Who Are Your TOP 10 Favorite Female Singers of All Time?
When I think of definitive voices....There's only one person that comes to mind....Now I may be a bit biased cause I'm an 80's kid...and so I know what true "SuperStars" look and sound like...but she was the one that every one else wanted to be like. She inspired countless followers and imitators who tried so hard to emulate what had always appeared as if it was just as natural as breathing for her. Just looking at the picture above, don't you just want to start singing along......"Ifff I....should stay, I would only be in your way." Don't front like you don't know the song.....They only played 15 times an hour on the radio back in 1992. If you turned one station off, there it was right back on another station all over again. When I say that song was EVERYWHERE, believe me it is not an exaggeration. She did the equivalent of vocal acrobatics on each and every song...No over-vocalizing necessary...and when she went for those big notes....Whew Lawd, watch out!! You felt every moment of it.
