Discussion of the Week: What Type of Music Would Be Included On Your Road Trip Playlist?

I firmly believe in the power of "Travelin' Music." I'm the type of person who has to have their headphones on when I'm just taking a short walk to the grocery store. Even if I'm just going to the store to pick up some things, I have to have some music accompanying me. That being said, if I'm going on a trip...needless to say, it's "ten-fold." Back in the day, when I used to go on road trips with my parents, I would have to have my Sony Sports Walkman, along with my artillery of cassette tapes right with me. As I got older, it would be a case of CD's. Now  that I'm an adult, all of my music is on my phone. The technology may have changed drastically.....but I've always needed up-beat, faced-paced music to get me started off on my journey. If I'm going from "Point A" to "Point B," I can't have anything that's too slow, no matter how much I may adore the song. No, it has to be music I can "strut" down the street to like I'm in a bad 80's video.....A typical road trip playlist for me would look something the following:

  • Long Train Coming- The Doobie Brothers
  • The Pretender- The Foo Fighters
  • EVERYTHING from the Rocky 4 Soundtrack
  • George Benson- Give Me The Night
  • Amerie- 1 Thing
  • AC/DC- It's a Long Way To The Top
  • Bobby Brown- On My Own
  • Stomp- The Brothers Johnson
  • Michael Jackson- The ENTIRE "Off The Wall" Album

and the list goes on....
